How to easily cut a layered cake
Your daughter excitedly poses with her new bag, eager for a picture. Her hair’s a little wild—no time for a comb this morning—but that’s okay.
"Hey, it’s a special moment she wants to capture!" you think, smiling as you snap the picture. These are the moments we hold dear🥰
Then, another memory: her birthday. The cake sits in front of her, waiting—candles already blown out
But who’s going to cut it?
You glance around—no one steps up
With a sigh, you take the knife and start slicing.
The pieces? Well, some are big, some are small, and most are... a little messy.
I totally get it.
Cutting that beautiful, layered cake into neat, even slices for your daughter and her friends can feel daunting, especially with their moms watching you
Here’s the easiest way I have found to cut a layered cake—with pride and confidence
Step 1:
Start with a long knife. Measure in about 2 inches from the edge and cut straight across the cake
Step 2:
Lay the cut piece on it’s side
Step 3:
Cut 1-inch slices off of the stripe laying down. Place on a dessert plate.
Step 4:
Repeat until all guests have a slice of cake. Serve your cake with pride.
